Week ahead: February 12, 2018

Federal

Indivisible National reports that Trump’s infrastructure plan could be released on Monday. We should be watchful that the plan may be a massive privatization scam. More details can be found at: https://www.indivisible.org/…/indivisible-infrastructure-t…/
An immigration bill could also be introduced as early as this week. Relief for the Dreamers is still not in sight and the deadline for the expiration of the program is March 5th. Please be prepared to call for relief for the Dreamers and that they not be used as a bargaining chip.

State and Local

Governor Snyder introduced a new Lead and Copper Rule which will have both positive and potentially negative impacts for communities across the State. The rule would update aspects like changing the “allowable” lead levels, creating a “house-advisory” level, require at-risk communities to replace lead-service lines, and many other updates. Public comment will be open February 15th-March 7. (Thanks Farida Islam for this information)
